Thank you so much to everyone who came out to help build
SeaCompressionSix! It was a complete success by every
measure, and it absolutely could not have happened without
the time, labor, vision, and dollars of everyone who participated.
This was the most Burning Man-like event I've ever been to outside
of Burning Man, primarily because of the density and variety of cool
stuff and pretty people.
I especially want to thank those who voluntarily paid $5 for their comps, and those
who paid an extra $5 for a volunteer. We value your financial assistance, and even
more importantly, your understanding that the whole community is responsible for
creating the event.
I'm going to share some rough numbers, but please take them with a bit of salt until
we get our final accounting. The books will be open and posted on the Ignition
Northwest website.
Cash gross for the night was about $32.6k. Pre-sales were another $4.6k, for a
total gross of about $37k. This blows my mind, because it is about $10k more than 2006 gross.
Expenses are still coming in. I don't expect to radically exceed our budget, though bigger gross =
bigger parks fee, so we're probably looking at about $25k. Since we neglected to put a counter at
the door early enough, we'll have to do a little figuring to work out the exact numbers. Based on gross,
I have to guess that attendance was far in excess of projections!
I'll have more details and thanks later - just wanted to dash off a quick note before I get back to my day job.
Again, thank you all for an incredible night!
